Zombie Dog Presents SIX FT HICK

Zombie Dog Presents

Grand Fatal + Hytest + 300 St Claire

SixFtHick hatched in 1995 from 5 city living farm boys getting together to do a stage show called ‘Country Style Livers’. From these beginnings came the original line up of the group- Geoffro & Gentle Ben (vox), Dan Baebler (bass), Karim ‘Birdhat’ Mellowship (guitar), and Fred (drums)- “a dual pronged rock’n’roll hydra – sleazing forth from the swamps, cane drains and lantana of Shitsville, Queensland.”

As the boys themselves’ say, “If you’ve never witnessed a SixFtHick show you’ve either been living under a rock or you’re in jail for murder”.  They have played of 500 shows, done over 50 East Coast tours and toured Europe & Japan. With a  reputation as one of this country’s finest live rock’n’roll acts, the have played with bands such as Link Wray; Fugazi; Boss Hog; The White Stripes; Unsane; Jesus Lizard; Hellacopters; The D4; Rocket From The Crypt; Reverend Horton Heat; Supersuckers; Southern Culture On The Skids; Phantom Surfers; Jon Spencer Blues Explosion; Nashville Pussy; The 5,6,7,8’s; Andre Williams; Zoo Bombs; Beasts of Bourbon.

This show, on 15th of July at THE SANDO, will be their 1st appearance in Sydney since the highly acclaimed documentary “SIX FT HICK: Notes from the Underground”, which aired on the ABC earlier this year. The current line up features Geoffro Corbett (The Tremors) & Gentle Ben Corbett (Gentle Ben & His Sensitive Side) on vocals, Dr Dan Baebler (The Tremors; Side Effects) on guitar, Tony “the Jackal” Giacca (Side Effects) on bass and Fred (The Fred Band; Rocky Outcrop Experience) on drums, and is sure to blow away both loyal and new fans of the band.

Supporting SixFtHick will be SANDO favourites Grand Fatal, with Wollongong boys, and SANDO regulars HyTest and the recently-reformed- Surry-Hills-dwelling 300 St Clair.
